Μια ξεχωριστή και δυσεύρετη ποικιλία με μικρά, χυμώδη και μικρού μεγέθους οβάλ φύλλα. 

Κάποια από αυτά είναι ανοιχτοπράσινα με βαθύ πράσινο περίγραμμα, ενώ άλλα μπορεί να έχουν κρεμ ή κόκκινες αποχρώσεις. Σε συνθήκες ήλιου το χρώμα των φύλλων γίνεται πιο κόκκινο και το περίγραμμά τους πιο σκούρο.

Έχει από τα μικρότερα σε μέγεθος άνθη σε σχέση με άλλες χόγιες, Ρόζ-κόκκινα με κίτρινο κέντρο, που μυρίζουν καραμέλα και διατηρούνται στο φυτό για 5 ημέρες.

Φροντίδα

Υπόστρωμα: Ως επιφυτικό φυτό προτιμά υπόστρωμα με πολύ καλό αερισμό και αποστράγγιση. Ένα τυπικό μείγμα περιλαμβάνει τύρφη, άμμο και περλίτη ή ελαφρόπετρα. Υπόστρωμα για Ορχιδέες είναι επίσης κατάλληλο για το φυτό αυτό.

Πότισμα: Αποθηκεύει νερό για μεγάλο διάστημα μεταξύ των ποτισμάτων. Χρειάζεται συχνό πότισμα το Καλοκαίρι αλλά πρέπει να αποφεύγεται το υπερβολικό πότισμα. Το Χειμώνα μειώνουμε δραστικά το πότισμα και το περιορίζουμε περίπου στις 1-2 φορές το μήνα.

Λίπανση: Κατά την περίοδο ανάπτυξης εφαρμόζουμε λίπασμα πλούσιο σε κάλιο και φώσφορο αλλά φτωχό σε άζωτο.

Θέση: Προτιμά φωτεινές θέσεις σε εσωτερικούς χώρους αλλά ανέχεται και τις πιο σκοτεινές. Σε εξωτερικές συνθήκες σκιά ή ημισκιά είναι το ιδανικό. Έκθεση σε ήλιο για μεγάλο χρονικό διάστημα μπορεί να οδηγήσει σε κάψιμο των φύλλων.

Θερμοκρασία: Ιδανικές θερμοκρασίες 16-30°C, δεν ανέχεται θερμοκρασία κάτω από 10°C.

Τοξικότητα: Φιλικό και ασφαλές για παιδιά και κατοικίδια.

 Hoya sp. Aff. Burtoniae grows naturally in the Philippines. 

Due to the confusion of naming and similarities to other species it is sometimes confused with Hoya tsangii, Hoya bilobata and Hoya DS-70. 

It creates a climbing habit and grows quite fast. It captivates with small, fleshy, oval-shaped leaves, 2-5.5 cm long and 1.5-3 cm wide, which grow on long shoots. 

Due to the picturesque and varied coloration, the leaves of this hoya are truly magnificent. Some of them are light green with dark green edges, others have cream, pink and red blush. The leaf blade is covered with a soft fluff that can be felt when touched. In the sun, the leaves turn red and a darker border is formed around the edge of each leaf. 

Hoya sp. Aff. Burtoniae has one of the smallest flowers among hoi An. Dark, pink-red flowers with a yellow center are gathered in showy umbellate inflorescences, they produce a lot of nectar, they smell like caramel and last for about 5 days. 

It's definitely a hoya that does best in a hanging pot, but can also be grown against supports.

Care

Substrate: As an epiphytic plant it prefers substrate with very good ventilation and drainage. A typical mixture includes peat, sand and perlite or pumice. Substrate for Orchids is also suitable for this plant.

Watering: Stores water for a long time between waterings. It needs frequent watering in summer but excessive watering should be avoided. In winter we drastically reduce watering and limit it to about 1-2 times a month.

Fertilization: During the growing season we apply fertilizer rich in potassium and phosphorus but poor in nitrogen.

Position: Prefers light places indoors but tolerates even the darkest. In outdoor conditions shade or partial shade is ideal. Exposure to the sun for a long time can lead to burning of the leaves.

Temperature: Ideal temperatures 16-30 ° C, temperature below 10 ° C is not tolerated.

Toxicity: Friendly and safe for children and pets.
