Δεν υπάρχει βιβλιογραφία που να αναφέρει την παρουσία της ποικιλίας αυτής στο φυσικό περιβάλλον. Επειδή μοιάζει πολύ με το Sedum morganianum που κατάγεται από το Μεξικό, υποθέτουμε ότι η ‘burrito’ είναι ένα φυσικό υβρίδιο του S. morganianum.

Ιδιαίτερο παχύφυτο με φύλλα χυμώδη και παχιά και βλαστούς που μπορούν να κρεμάσουν μέχρι και 1μ. Κατάλληλο για φύτευση σε συνθέσεις με άλλα φυτά, για βραχόκηπους και για γλάστρες, ζαρντινιέρες.

Τα σέντουμ είναι φυτά που μπορούν να επιβιώσουν ακόμα και στις πιο ακραίες συνθήκες και χρειάζονται ελάχιστη φροντίδα. Δεν είναι τυχαίο ότι είναι γνωστά με το όνομα 'stonecrop' που δηλώνει, με μία δόση υπερβολής, ότι μόνο οι πέτρες χρειάζονται λιγότερη φροντίδα από τα σέντουμ.

English

It is a beautiful succulent plant that grows upright, but over time assumes a creeping or drooping habit, and for this reason it is often called "donkey's tail".

It has very fleshy leaves, which grow in the shape of a rosette, of a light green color.

In spring-summer, it blooms with small bell-shaped flowers, ranging in color from white to reddish-pink.

Care

• Most of the species prefer very bright places, however preferably sheltered from direct sunlight.
• The lowest temperatures they resist vary a lot: some species withstand the tempretures down to 10 °C, others can resist the temperatures even down to -10 °C!
• Water moderately only when the soil is completely dry. In winter, suspend watering. When placed outdoors, many species survive very well with only rainwater.
• A suitable soil for succulents is fine, they do not require special requires (many species even grow in the cracks between the walls).
• They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
