Slowly growing to form a bushy rounded shrub, this evergreen conifer could possibly be used as an alternative to Buxus (box).

It has stiff, rich green leaves, which take on russet tones as the temperatures dip in the winter, and being compact, it works just as well in pots as it does at the front of the border.
