Every great story has its origin. For Amigo Plant it all started in a small corner in a modest greenhouse, where the young Gerard van Langen became fascinated by succulents. But this fascination was not a fleeting childhood hobby. It was the start of an adventure that would lead to the creation of a leading company in the world of succulents.

Gerard van Langen had a vision that made Amigo Plant flourish with locations in the Netherlands and Portugal. But growth was never the only goal; innovation was central. That brought them to Aloe Vera, a plant known and loved by many. Yet Gerard saw room for improvement.

In 2016, the ambitious project to develop a superior variant of Aloe Vera began. After intensive research and with the help of breeding, the first prototype of the Aloe Medivera® was launched in 2019. This plant was distinguished by:

• Transport efficiency: Stronger plants that can better withstand the challenges of transport.
