Large glossy rosettes unfold in deep purple to near black, while green notes emerge toward the heart and add dimension to the dramatic palette. Light and position

‘Destiny’ was bred by Daniel Michael at Surreal Succulents in Penzance, Cornwall. The controlled cross was made in 2016.

Patent USPP35495 records Sempervivum ciliosum ‘Green Ice’ as the female parent and Aeonium ‘Ice Warrior’ as the male parent.
Selection and protection
The distinctive plant was selected in 2018 for its enduring dark foliage and form. European plant variety protection is recorded as 2022/1701.
From natural habitat to care: As a horticultural hybrid it has no wild habitat of its own. Its needs bridge the mild seasonal rhythm of Aeonium with the greater cold tolerance of Sempervivum.
