A stylish, low four-position garden that keeps herbs, strawberries and seasonal plants perfectly organized. The clean matt surface and softly rounded square form look like a modern design object, while each plant remains in its own nursery pot for easy replacement at the end of its cycle.
Plants stay in their nursery pots · recommended maximum plant height 25 cm.
LECHUZA Stick System · 4 positions
Four nursery pots, four sticks, one shared water reservoir
Each plant remains in its nursery pot. Insert one self-watering stick from below through a drainage hole; capillary action transfers water from the shared water reservoir to the substrate and root zone. The system works immediately, without repotting or waiting for the roots to reach the reservoir.
Use four nursery pots 10–12 cm in diameter, without saucers or decorative cover pots.
Insert one self-watering stick through a drainage hole in each nursery pot so that it touches the substrate.
Place the four plants in the positions of the removable insert and fill the water reservoir through the filling shaft.
The MIN/MAX indicator shows the level; the refill time is adjusted to the needs of the plants and the conditions.
In an uncovered outdoor area, remove the drainage plug for excess rainwater.

01
No transplanting
The plants remain in their nursery pots. Replace them quickly after harvesting the herbs or at the end of the season.
02
Four independent positions
Each nursery pot has its own stick and draws water from the shared water reservoir without the plants’ roots becoming entangled.
03
Low, clean design
It stands on its own on a bench or table and can later become the top unit of a PILA tower.

From the nursery to the reservoir in four steps
The Stick System starts immediately, without adding soil or PON and without transplanting.
01 · Choose pots
Use four plants in Ø10–12 cm nursery pots and remove any saucers.
02 · Pass the sticks
Insert one self-watering stick from below through a drainage hole in each nursery pot.
03 · Place the plants
Place the four nursery pots in the corresponding positions of the removable inner insert.
04 · Fill the water reservoir
Add water from the filling shaft up to MAX and monitor the indicator before each refill.
One common base 35 × 35 cm
The elements appear as a single piece of furniture
Planter, Stick, and Storage share the same footprint and visually snap together without protrusions. You can keep a single shade across the entire column or mix different tones from the same four-color palette.
For hot summer weather
Small nursery pots, faster water use
The water reservoir reduces frequent watering, but Ø10–12 cm pots have a small substrate volume. In heatwaves, strong sun, or high winds, check the indicator and the condition of the plants daily.
What to put in the 4 positions
01Basil, parsley, mint and other herbs supplied in Ø10–12 cm nursery pots.
02Strawberries, small salad greens, and compact seasonal plants with similar light and temperature needs.
03Small ornamental plants for a kitchen, a bright interior or a sheltered balcony.
For proper use
01Choose plants that suit the same location; all share the same light and outdoor conditions.
02Keep the nursery pots free of saucers so that each stick can reach the water reservoir.
03As a tower, use up to two Storages and only one planting unit on the top.
04Place the composition on a flat, sturdy base protected from strong wind.

Safe stacking has a clear rule
You can place up to two PILA Color Storage units at the base and a single planting unit — Stick or Planter — on top. The total height, including the Coaster and plants, must not exceed 160.5 cm, while the recommended maximum plant height for the Stick is 25 cm. The arrangement should remain on a level, stable, and wind-protected spot.
↧
Before using it in an uncovered outdoor space
Remove the drain plug from the Stick so that excess rainwater can be drained, and check that the outlet remains clear. In an indoor or protected location, the plug must be properly closed.
Frequently asked questions
What are the dimensions and capacity of the PILA Color Stick?
The PILA Color Stick has outer dimensions 35 × 35 × 16.6 cm and a water reservoir of 2.4 L. It accommodates four nursery pots Ø10–12 cm, while the recommended maximum height for each plant is 25 cm.
Do the plants need to be transplanted?
No. Each plant remains in its nursery pot. The pot just needs to have a diameter of 10–12 cm and a drainage hole, so the self-watering stick can be placed underneath.
How does the Stick System work?
Four separate sticks transfer water by capillary action from the shared water reservoir to the potting soil, one for each nursery pot. The reservoir is filled through the filling shaft, and the MIN/MAX indicator shows the available amount of water.
What does the All-in-One Set include?
Includes the PILA Color Stick outer planter body, the removable inner insert for four nursery pots, the water-level indicator with filling shaft, and four self-watering sticks. Plants and nursery pots are not included.
Can it be used alone or as a PILA tower?
It can be used alone on a stable, flat surface or as the top unit of a tower. The safe maximum composition is two PILA Color Storage at the base and only one planting unit on top, with a total height of up to 160.5 cm including the Coaster and plants.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The body is resistant to ultraviolet radiation, frost, and weather conditions. In an uncovered outdoor area, remove the drainage plug and keep the outlet clear so that excess rainwater can flow out.
Are the PILA Color Planter 35, the Storage, or the Coaster included?
No. The PILA Color Planter 35, the PILA Color Storage, and the PILA Coaster are sold separately and are not included in the package of the PILA Color Stick. The Planter and the Storage are available from their own pages on Greenleaf.
