A clean, matte planter that organizes greenery vertically without looking "technical." The softly rounded square shape works beautifully as a standalone piece, but its real strength is seen when it becomes the top of a modular PILA tower, combining planting, storage, and contemporary design into a unified whole.

The plant is lifted entirely — the water reservoir stays at the base
Plant in the plant liner with recessed handles. The supplied LECHUZA-PON forms the base layer; after the initial rooting period, the roots draw water from the reservoir. The water-level indicator provides an immediate visual reading, while the outer planter body remains clean and ready for standalone use or as the top unit of a PILA tower.
Lift the plant liner vertically using the recessed handles.
The LECHUZA-PON goes into the base and the rest of the plant liner is filled with suitable substrate.
During the first weeks, water from the top; afterwards, use the filling shaft and the MIN/MAX indicators.
In an uncovered outdoor area, remove the drainage plug for excess rainwater.

01
Standalone or on top
It operates normally on its own and, when you want more height or storage, it snaps on as the top unit of a PILA tower.
02
The plant liner lifts out as one piece
The plant liner is lifted by the handles for planting, care, or seasonal change without moving the entire system.
03
Mat design inside and out
The lightweight, durable body is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, with protection against UV and frost.

From planting to self-watering in four steps
The proper start helps the roots gradually take advantage of the Classic System.
01 · Set up the system
Place the water-level indicator and accessories in the plant liner according to the instructions.
02 · Add PON and substrate
Spread the provided LECHUZA-PON at the base and complete the planting with a substrate suitable for the plant.
03 · Water from above
During the first weeks, water the substrate from above so that the roots grow towards the moisture zone.
04 · Switch to reservoir watering
When the plant starts to draw water, fill through the filling shaft and monitor the MIN and MAX indicators.
One common base 35 × 35 cm
The elements appear as a single piece of furniture
Planter, Stick, and Storage share the same footprint and visually snap together without protrusions. You can keep a single shade across the entire column or mix different tones from the same four-color palette.
For hot summer weather
The water reservoir helps — control remains necessary
Consumption varies depending on the type of plant, the sun, and the wind. During a heatwave or on a very exposed balcony, check the indicator and the substrate moisture daily, even if the water reservoir has not completely emptied.
Where it fits
01Balcony or terrace for herbs, vegetables, strawberries, and compact flowering plants.
02Kitchen, living room, or office for organized greenery with a clean, architectural character.
03Entrance, store, or professional space, alone or as a tall modular composition.
Before setting up tower
01Use up to two Storage units and only one planting unit on top.
02Place the composition on a flat, sturdy base protected from strong wind.
03Do not use a pergola or climbing support that raises the center of gravity.
04With the Coaster, distribute the weight evenly and move the column slowly.

Safe stacking has a clear rule
Place up to two PILA Color Storage units on the base and only one planting unit — Planter or Stick — on top. The total height with Coaster and plant must not exceed 160.5 cm, while the recommended maximum plant height for the Planter is 50 cm. The composition must remain on a level, stable, and wind-protected spot.
↧
Before using it in an uncovered outdoor space
Remove the drainage plug from the Planter so that excess rainwater can be removed, and check that the outlet remains clear. In an indoor or sheltered location, the plug must be properly closed.
Frequently asked questions
What are the dimensions and capacities of the PILA Color Planter 35?
The PILA Color Planter 35 has outer dimensions of 35 × 35 × 33 cm, a water reservoir of 3.9 L, and a plant volume of 14.5 L. The removable plant liner is 29 × 29 × 20 cm, and the recommended maximum plant height is 50 cm.
What does the All-in-One Set include?
It includes the outer planter body of the PILA Color Planter, the removable plant liner with recessed handles, the Classic System equipment with filling shaft and water-level indicator, as well as LECHUZA-PON for the base layer. The plant and additional substrate are not included.
Can it be used on its own or does it need PILA Color Storage?
It can be used normally as a standalone planter on a stable, flat surface. The PILA Color Storage is an optional, separately sold unit that adds storage and height when you want to create a PILA tower.
How are the PILA elements stacked safely?
The safe maximum composition is two PILA Color Storage units at the base and only one planting unit, Planter or Stick, on top. The tower must stand on a level, sturdy, and wind-protected spot, while the total height together with the Coaster and plant must not exceed 160.5 cm.
How does watering work after planting?
During the first weeks, water the substrate from above until the roots grow towards the moisture zone. Then fill from the filling shaft and use the MIN/MAX indicator. When the indicator reaches MIN, allow the appropriate dry phase for the specific plant before filling again up to MAX.
Is it suitable for outdoor use and rain?
Yes. The body is resistant to UV radiation, frost, and weather conditions. In uncovered outdoor spaces, remove the drain plug and keep the outlet clear so that excess rainwater is properly drained.
Does it include the PILA Color Stick, the PILA Color Storage, or the Coaster?
No. The PILA Color Stick, the PILA Color Storage, and the PILA Coaster are separate items and are not included in the packaging of the PILA Color Planter 35.
