Black volcanic lava rock in a 2–8 mm grade for decorative top dressing and for adding a more open, stable structure to potting mixes. The porous, durable granules create spaces for airflow and help water move through the mix, while the deep black colour gives cacti, succulents, bonsai and terrariums a clean finish.
The irregular volcanic granules do not compact like a fine organic material. When distributed correctly through a potting mix, they leave small spaces that support the movement of air and water.

Mixed evenly, it adds stable granules and air spaces to potting mixes that compact easily.
The irregular particle size helps excess water move through the mix towards the drainage holes in the pot.
Used as a thin surface layer, it presents cacti, succulents, bonsai and planted displays neatly.
Fine transport dust is normal with a granular mineral material. Rinse only the amount you need and allow it to drain.
Place the lava rock in a sieve and rinse until the water runs clear, without using a cleaning product.
Use it as a thin top dressing or add it gradually to a mix that needs more structure and drainage.
When blending, spread the granules throughout the mix. On the surface, keep the base of the plant clear.
Check the actual moisture after application; the right frequency depends on the plant, pot and the rest of the mix.
Lava rock improves structure only when used correctly. The pot must allow excess water to escape, while nutrition should be adjusted separately to the plant's needs.
Black volcanic lava rock in a 2–8 mm grade. As this is a natural raw material, slight differences in shape and shade may occur.
Rinsing removes handling and transport dust without changing the material's natural structure.
Reseal the pack and store it in a clean, dry place. Keep unused material separate from old potting mix and plant residues.
This is a natural mineral material, so minor differences in granule shape, surface and shade are expected.
Use black lava rock as a decorative top dressing or as a targeted mineral amendment, depending on the plant and the structure of the base mix.

Yes. Rinse the amount you need with clean water to remove fine handling and transport dust.
There is no single ratio suitable for every plant. Add it gradually, taking the base mix, plant species, pot and drying rate into account.
No. Lava rock is a structural and decorative mineral material. Supply nutrition separately only when the plant needs it and follow the fertiliser instructions.
Yes, provided the granules remain in good condition. Remove roots and residues, rinse carefully and allow the material to dry completely before using it again.
