Pumice and perlite keep the mix open as it dries, while the smaller organic base provides moisture and nutrition without dense compaction.

2 parts coco coir, 1 part worm castings, 2.5 parts perlite and 4 parts pumice, with small amounts of activated carbon and lava gravel, plus organic nutrients.
