A beautiful variety with very distinctive foliage. Originating from Namibia, it is a form of the highly variable form of the large-flowered, highly variable, and very popular plant. Crassula elegans. Many different forms are available under this name. It has shallow and short roots and the root/plant height ratio is low in times of drought. If watered, however, it quickly develops roots that temporarily increase this ratio.
Care
An easy plant to maintain, it grows in spring and autumn and goes dormant in summer. Tolerates almost all substrates but prefers those that have very good drainage. It can be left in a 6-10cm pot for many years without any problems and for best results it is best that the pot is shallow. During the summer months the soil should remain moist but not excessively so, and in Winter it should be watered lightly when the soil is completely dry. Low atmospheric humidity is always desirable. It needs bright sun or penumbra locations to keep growth compact, but hot, summer sun should be avoided.
Tolerant of low temperatures (-5°C) as long as the substrate is kept dry, but prolonged exposure to such temperatures should be avoided as it can cause scarring and scarring of the leaves. Excellent choice for decorative pots and rock gardens. Indoors it should be placed in locations with plenty of natural light.
