Family: Crassulaceae • Pot diameter: 8.5 cm • Height: 15 cm
From green to “flame” — the succulent that lights up in the cold 🔥
Crassula capitella ‘Campfire’ forms rosettes and offsets with excellent branching. In sun the leaves turn vivid red-orange; in shade they remain green. In winter, the coloration deepens even further.
Bright position from full sun to part shade. The richest red develops in full sun, but avoid harsh midday scorch in summer. Protect from temperatures below 7 °C.
Placement within the genus has been much discussed; it appears as a form or hybrid of Crassula capitella (historically referenced near C. erosula/C. subacaulis ssp. erosula). ‘Campfire’ was selected for its intense red-orange foliage and prolific offsetting.

Only when the substrate is completely dry. Spring/summer: sparse waterings; autumn: minimal; winter: pause.
Ideally above 7 °C. In cold zones keep it potted and protect from frost.
Very free-draining cactus/succulent mix with a high inorganic fraction (perlite/pumice) so water doesn’t pool.
