Clear Orchid Pot 17 cm

A clear cultivation pot for epiphytic orchids, with an open drainage base.

Nominal diameter: Ø 17 cm · Use: Phalaenopsis and other epiphytic orchids.

  • Clear body
  • Ø 17 cm
  • Visible roots
  • Base drainage

The Clear Orchid Pot 17 cm makes orchid care easier to read: you can see the roots, follow how the mix dries and check drainage without disturbing the plant. The clear construction is ideal for Phalaenopsis and other epiphytic orchids, while the nominal Ø 17 cm diameter supports an accurate choice based on the actual root system rather than leaf span alone.

Visible checks · fast drainage · correct fit

See what is happening before you water

The clear body lets you monitor moisture, root condition and mix breakdown without removing the orchid from its pot.

  • The nominal Ø 17 cm diameter makes it easy to compare the pot with the current root mass and existing pot.
  • Light can reach the roots, as preferred by many epiphytic orchids, while the pot itself remains in bright indirect light.
  • The open drainage base releases excess water when the pot is used without a standing reservoir.
Clear does not mean direct sun. Strong sun can heat the pot and roots quickly. Keep it in bright indirect light.

01

Roots remain visible

Check colour, moisture and new growth more easily before deciding whether to water.

02

Water leaves through the base

Drainage openings help excess water escape after each watering.

03

Choose the size precisely

The largest clear option in the range for a developed root system that genuinely needs more room.

Size13, 15 or 17 cm — let the roots decideThe right pot is only slightly larger than the active root system.
Clear orchid pot range

The right diameter keeps roots comfortable but stable

Do not size up simply because aerial roots are present. Choose the smallest pot that accepts the active root system without forcing it.

Alternative sizeClear Orchid Pot 13 cm

For a smaller or compact root system that fits without force.

Alternative sizeClear Orchid Pot 15 cm

For a medium root system that has outgrown its previous smaller pot.

Current sizeClear Orchid Pot 17 cm

For a developed root system that genuinely needs more room.

Not every aerial root needs to go inside

Guide only roots that move easily and never force stiff aerial roots, as they can crack.

RepottingClean roots, airy mix and a free-draining baseFour steps without forcing the roots.
First use

Repot without burying the crown

Work gently with an airy orchid mix. The crown and stem base remain above the final surface.

01

Soften flexible roots

If the mix is very dry, water beforehand so active roots are less brittle.

02

Remove old mix

Clear away broken-down material and trim only dead or soft roots with a clean tool.

03

Position the orchid high

Support the plant with the crown above the mix and guide flexible roots into a natural position.

04

Fill and check the base

Add a coarse, airy mix without over-compacting and confirm that drainage openings remain clear.

Adjust the first watering to root condition

If roots were cut, follow the plant and mix condition rather than a fixed schedule. Every watering should drain freely.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about size, repotting, watering and package contents.

01Why is the pot clear?

Transparency makes it easier to check root colour, moisture and new growth without frequently removing the orchid from its pot.

02Do the roots need direct sun?

No. The clear body allows light to reach the roots, but the orchid and pot should stay in bright indirect light. Strong sun can overheat the roots.

03How do I choose between 13, 15 and 17 cm?

Choose the smallest diameter that accepts the active root system without force. Do not size up based only on leaf span or the presence of aerial roots.

04Must every aerial root go inside?

No. Guide only roots that remain flexible and move without force. Stiff aerial roots can stay outside the pot.

05How should I water in a clear pot?

Water when the mix and roots indicate a need, then let water drain completely through the base. Do not follow a fixed calendar regardless of conditions.

06Is it only for Phalaenopsis?

It is especially suitable for Phalaenopsis and other epiphytic orchids that benefit from visible roots, an airy mix and fast drainage.

07Can it sit inside an outer pot?

Yes, provided the fit allows airflow and any water collected after watering is emptied.

08What is included?

One Clear Orchid Pot 17 cm. Plant, growing medium, outer pot and saucer are not included.
