The tapered shape, internal vertical ribs and side slits work together to direct the roots downwards instead of constantly following the perimeter of the pot.

A sound foundation, not autopilot: aeration and drainage help, but are not a substitute for proper substrate, pot size, and watering according to the plant's actual needs.

Proper transplanting starts with size

Do not size up more than necessary

Choose based on the actual volume of the root ball and not just the size of the foliage. Too much substrate can dry out more slowly than the roots can utilize.

Check the root ball

See how much space the active roots take up and whether they have essentially filled the current pot.

Move up one sensible size

Give new space around the roots without placing them in a disproportionately large volume of wet substrate.

Plan the support

If a moss pole or anchor is to be used, place it when transplanting so that it remains stable from the start.

Without a saucer or with a clear saucer

Each size is offered with a "NO" or "YES" option in the "With saucer" field. The selection only changes whether the corresponding clear saucer will be included.

The saucer is not a reservoir

Aroid Pot is not self-watering. After watering, let the water drain freely and empty everything that accumulates in the saucer; do not leave the base of the pot in standing water.

Watering and cleaning

Three simple habits that keep the system clean

The ventilated pot performs well when the openings remain free and water is not trapped under the rhizosphere.

Water deeply

Wet the substrate evenly and let the excess water drain away from the base.

Empty the saucer

After draining, remove the water that has collected so that the pot does not remain submerged.

Clean the slits

Wash with lukewarm water and mild soap. Avoid abrasive materials that may dull the transparency.

01Which Aroid Pot size should I choose?

Choose based on today's root ball and move up only as much as necessary to create new space around the roots. Don't rely on the size of the leaves alone and avoid a disproportionately large pot, because the extra volume of substrate can hold moisture for longer.

02Is it a self-watering pot?

No. This particular Aroid Pot is a ventilated growing pot and does not have a built-in reservoir or wick. Water should drain freely and be removed from the saucer.

03What does the option "With saucer: YES" include?

It includes an Aroid Pot in the selected size and the corresponding clear saucer. The saucer collects any drips, but should not be used as a permanent water reservoir.

04Why is the clear pot useful?

It allows you to monitor root growth and color, as well as visible signs of moisture, without disturbing the rhizosphere. Control becomes more accurate when combined with the weight of the pot and knowledge of the plant's needs.

05What does anti-spiral design mean?

The internal vertical ribs interrupt the smooth circular path along the walls and encourage the roots to continue downwards, limiting the constant 'round and round' in the pot.

06Can I use an overly fine substrate?

The many side and bottom holes work best with a substrate of suitable grain size for ventilated pots. Very fine particles can escape through the slits or clog them, so prefer a mixture that suits both the pot and the plant.

07Is it only suitable for aroids?

It is particularly useful for Monstera, Philodendron, Anthurium, Alocasia, Epipremnum, Syngonium and Rhaphidophora, but can also be used for other indoor plants that benefit from strong drainage, lateral ventilation and visibility of the roots.

08What sizes do Ventilated Covers accept?

PlantScraper Ventilated Covers are available for Aroid Pots 10, 12, 14 and 16 cm. Choose exactly the same nominal size as the pot. The sizes 18, 21 and 24 cm are not included in this series of covers.

09Is it suitable for permanent outdoor use?

Intended for indoor cultivation. No permanent UV or weather resistance is claimed, so it is not recommended as a permanent outdoor pot.

10Are plant or substrate included?

No. Only the Aroid Pot in the selected size is included and, if "With saucer: YES" is selected, the corresponding clear saucer. Plant, substrate, moss pole, cover and other accessories sold separately.
