Family: Araceae • Pot diameter: 12 cm • Height: ~20–25 cm
The plant that matches everything — and knows it 😉
A collectible form with foliage that catches the light beautifully: a strong silver blush over deep green, with elegant rosette-like growth.
Place it near an east- or north-facing window with bright, indirect light. Aim for humidity above 60% with good air circulation, and avoid draughts or direct sun. It prefers a very well-draining substrate with rich organic material.
Taxonomic history: A cultivated form of the genus Anthurium (Araceae), with clear affinities to the crystallinum group in terms of venation and texture.
Place/habitat & distribution: Tropical forests of Central and South America, especially the understory: filtered light, high humidity and organic, aerated substrates.
Naming / etymology: “Silver Blush” refers to the strong silver vein and the reflective highlights along the main veins.
Ecology & biology: Velvety foliage with strong vein contrast; a relatively small root system means oxygen around the roots and avoidance of stagnant water are essential.
Related species & distinction: Compared with A. crystallinum, it shows a more linear, luminous silver vein and cleaner contrast on mature leaves.
Propagation & stability: Mainly produced in vitro for trait uniformity; rhizome division is possible on advanced, mature plants.
Conservation status & pressure: The availability of cultivated material helps reduce collecting pressure from the wild; it remains a nursery-scarce variety with high demand.
