Aloe Medivera® ‘Meridiaan’ is a modern improved Aloe with a compact rosette, sturdy light-green leaves and a clean professional appearance. Dense arrangement and controlled proportions give it a complete presence that feels designed for contemporary homes, offices and thoughtful gifts. It is recognisably Aloe, yet noticeably more composed than the familiar generic form.
‘Meridiaan’ stands apart within the Medivera® range as the lighter, calmer expression without the bold variegation of ‘Tropical’. Its real value lies in combining familiar Aloe aesthetics with modern cultivar development. This is a commercially protected selection with a documented breeding story, strong decorative presence and enough personality to refresh the classic image of Aloe rather than simply repeat it.
Three defining details that turn its botanical identity into real presence for a collection and interior.
Light-green leaves are organised into a dense balanced form.
The cultivar belongs to a documented modern Aloe breeding programme.
Consistent proportions suit contemporary spaces and high-quality gifting.
Why you’ll love it: it refreshes classic Aloe with a lighter, more compact and documented cultivar identity.
Display it in simple white, natural or charcoal ceramic with a clear view of the symmetrical rosette and space around the toothed margins.
Pair it with plants that genuinely share its light, substrate and seasonal rhythm. Separate pots keep care precise for each one.
Very bright exposure with gentle direct sun after gradual acclimation.
Water after the mix dries completely, keeping water out of the rosette.
A warm, airy environment protected from frost and prolonged cold.
Ingesting Aloe may cause gastrointestinal problems and sap may irritate; keep it away from children and animals.
Provide a very bright position and introduce direct sun gradually. Correct intensity keeps the rosette compact and its pattern clear.
Water thoroughly when the mix is fully dry and let excess escape. Do not leave water between leaf bases.
Air movement prevents persistent moisture in the rosette. Avoid enclosed positions and repeated misting.
Protect from frost and cold wet weather. In winter maintain stronger light and longer drying intervals.
Choose a porous succulent mix with immediate drainage, modest organic matter and stable mineral material.
A dilute balanced low-nitrogen feed in active growth is sufficient. Repot without burying the neck and remove only fully dry leaves.
Medivera® is an Amigo Plant breeding programme. Selection work began in 2016, the first prototype appeared in 2019 and commercial introduction followed in the early 2020s.
‘Meridiaan’ is the lighter compact selection in the range, distinct from deeper green ‘Equator’ and variegated ‘Tropical’. Its name belongs to a cultivated commercial line, not a wild taxon.
The range was developed as an improvement of Aloe vera, an accepted Asphodelaceae species native to the Hajar Mountains of northern Oman. Exact selection genealogy remains proprietary.
From natural habitat to care: An Aloe vera base from dry mountain habitat and a compact improved rosette explain the need for strong exposure, complete drying and air between leaf bases.
Leaf interiors store water in specialised tissues.
Stomata open mainly at night, limiting water loss.
Small marginal teeth are a stable morphological feature of the rosette.
The Medivera® programme focused on a more stable rosette, stronger foliage and uniform ornamental appearance.
