An excellent indoor variety with deep green, very twisted leaves and striking red flowers. A beautiful and unique plant. Very hardy, can even be placed in shady positions.
Origin: Tropical, humid forests of Asia, from the Himalayas to Indonesia, where it usually grows on trees.
Care
Moderate watering and after the soil surface has dried, ideally with rainwater or deionised water. Excessive watering should be avoided.
Prefers bright, warm locations but without direct sun exposure. It is a plant that loves high humidity and particularly appreciates occasional spraying on the leaves. In Winter watering should be limited considerably, which helps the plant to have better flowering in Summer.
It is also an ideal plant for hanging pots or placement in a high spot, where it can hang 1-1.5 metres.

Extra: Its name comes from the Greek words 'feel' and 'blossom', as if the plant is ashamed to show its flowers, perhaps because it thinks its foliage is prettier.
That's why most of the time its lush foliage covers the flowers.
