Bright variegation
Pale areas vary in extent and intensity. This natural variation keeps the foliage interesting without exact repetition.

Green fancied a change 🍋
Epipremnum ‘Lemon Joy’ brightens its green with lemon and pale cream markings on leaves with a gently heart-shaped base and pointed tip. The colours meet in irregular patches, giving each leaf its own balance between deeper green and a lighter pattern.
Its young form is full, while lengthening stems gradually add movement to the arrangement. On a shelf the foliage can spread in relaxed lines; a support gives it a vertical direction and displays the leaves one after another.
Colour, outline and growth habit offer three different reasons to notice it.

At its current juvenile stage, the leaves have a whole outline. Their pointed tips balance the more rounded bases.
The initially full arrangement can develop into a trailing or climbing form, depending on the available space and support.
Why you’ll love it: it adds bright colour to a collection without needing flowers to catch the eye.
On a bright shelf or small table near a window with filtered light. Leave room for the stems to lengthen and keep the foliage away from radiators and strong midday sun.
Combine different leaf shapes, keeping each plant in its own pot so watering can be adjusted separately.
Plenty of indirect light. Avoid strong sun and permanently dark corners.
When the upper part of the mix dries. Water thoroughly and empty the saucer.
A warm room, around 18–25°C, away from cold draughts and direct heating.
Keep out of reach of cats and dogs. It is unsuitable for chewing or ingestion.
Bright indirect light supports fuller growth. Move the plant gradually towards a brighter position; sudden exposure to strong sun can scorch the leaves.
Check the upper 2–3 cm with a finger and assess the pot’s weight. Once dry, water until it drains through the holes. Frequency changes with warmth, light and season.
Normal household humidity is usually adequate. Remove dust with a soft damp cloth and avoid dry air from radiators.
Maintain steady warmth and protect it from prolonged temperatures below about 15°C. Keep leaves clear of cold glass.
Use an airy aroid mix containing organic and coarse materials. Drainage holes and air around the roots are essential; permanently wet soil is unsuitable.
During active growth, give a complete liquid foliage-plant fertiliser around once a month at a mild dilution following the label. Reduce or stop when growth slows. With pre-fertilised mixes, wait for the period specified for that mix. Move up one pot size when the roots fill the container.
Epipremnum belongs to Araceae and includes tropical climbing plants.
‘Lemon Joy’ is a cultivated selection with bright, variegated foliage. Its name does not designate a wild population or a particular native locality.
Members of the genus occur mainly in tropical Asia and the Pacific region. The genus’s natural distribution is distinct from the place where a cultivated selection originated.
Aerial roots form along stems and help climbing aroids attach to surfaces. Support is part of the architecture of their growth.
A node connects leaf, stem and bud. A cutting needs a suitable stem section with a node to develop into a new plant, rather than an isolated leaf blade.
Drops at a leaf tip may result from guttation: root pressure pushes liquid through specialised outlets when transpiration is limited. They are not always water that landed on the leaf.
Many aroids contain raphides, slender calcium oxalate crystals. Tissue damage caused by chewing can lead to irritation even when a leaf appears soft.
Practical answers about colour, stems and everyday care.
Not necessarily. Let the stems trail or guide them onto a small support without tying them tightly.
Variegation naturally differs from leaf to leaf. Bright indirect light supports growth but does not guarantee identical colouring.
Lemon-coloured areas are part of the foliage pattern. If a whole leaf suddenly turns yellow, softens or drops, check watering, roots and light rather than automatically attributing it to the selection.
Provide adequate light and lightly trim long stems above a node during active growth. Use a clean tool and gloves.
No. First check whether roots fill the pot and whether the mix drains properly. An oversized container retains moisture for longer.
Keep it away from cats and dogs. Chewing can irritate the mouth. If ingestion causes symptoms, contact a veterinarian.
Every order is prepared with care so your plant arrives upright, secure and safe.
Individual protection
Plants in pots with a capacity of 3 litres or more are placed in individual boxes that hold the pot securely and reduce the risk of tipping over.
