Sybasoil Vermiculite

Vermiculite (from natural mica) is a golden, lightweight soil amendment that aerates like perlite, but offers high water & nutrient retention. Ideal for plants that like a bit more consistent moisture (e.g. Alocasia, ferns) and excellent for seed starting/seedlings. Neutral pH ~7–7.5.

Why it works

A “sponge” for moisture & nutrients: stores and releases slowly.
Inert & neutral: doesn’t chemically disrupt your mix; stays structurally stable.
Seed-starting helper: keeps the surface evenly moist for young seedlings.

How to use

As an additive: mix in 10–30% by volume for extra moisture buffering and aeration.
For seed starting: use a thin top layer to maintain consistent moisture.
Blend evenly: combine with coir, bark, perlite, etc.
Pre-moisten: water and let the mix settle before planting.

💧 Will it hold “too much” moisture?

Adjust the percentage (10–30%) and water when the top 1–2 cm start to dry. For drier-loving plants, use less.

🧪 Does it add nutrients to the mix?

No—it’s not a fertilizer. It acts like a buffer that helps keep nutrients available longer.

🌱 Is it suitable for seed starting?

Yes—excellent for seeds/seedlings: it stabilizes moisture, helps reduce temperature swings and supports very fine young roots.
