Sedum adolphi ‘Firestorm’ brings a palette of gold, green and orange to your collection. Plump leaves gather into small rosettes at the stem tips, their warm margins suggesting a quiet decorative flame.

Light and colour

Bright conditions encourage warm tones. Introduce direct sun gradually, especially after indoor cultivation. The plant may look greener in gentler light; severe dehydration is not needed to make it a “proper” Firestorm.

‘Firestorm’ is a selection of Sedum adolphi associated with Altman Plants in California. Its golden yellow leaves with warm margins distinguish it from a uniformly copper-coloured form.

A documented milestone

Huntington Botanical Gardens distributed it through International Succulent Introductions as ISI 2014-32, with material HBG 120336. The 2014 listing documents its distribution; it does not necessarily establish when the selection first arose.

The name adolphi

The same record explains the spelling adolphi with one “i” and its connection to Adolf Engler. It is also frequently sold as Sedum adolphii ‘Firestorm’. Firestorm™ is retained as the product’s trade name.
