Compact growth (about 80cm), ideal for pot growing and the earliest fruiting of all. It starts to form fruit from mid-July, 3 weeks before 'Autumn Bliss' and 'Autumn First', on new growth wood. Medium sized, bright red fruits, the same size as 'Little Red Princess' but with much earlier ripening. It is currently the variety with the earliest ripening. Because it fruits on new growth wood, plants should be pruned at 5cm in late February.
It is rich in vitamins and organic acids , has diuretic, laxative, astringent and laxative properties and relieves symptoms of nausea, labour pains and diarrhoea. It is an antioxidant and protects cells from the destructive action of free radicals. It helps in the treatment of cataracts, colds, dysentery, flu, hemorrhoids, uterine bleeding, wounds, stomach upset.
