Variety of blackcurrant of fast and compact growth. Produces tasty, medium-sized fruits which are harvested from the end of July. Self-pollinating variety with high disease resistance. Blackcurrant is the largest source of vitamin C (up to 182mg per 100g of fruit) and to a lesser extent, vitamin B, P,E, provitamin A, potassium and iron. In addition to vitamins, it is particularly rich in fibre, containing over 5.5g per 100g of berries. Gooseberries are also rich in polyphenols, plant substances known for their antioxidant action, as they have the ability to capture free radicals that damage the body's tissues. Eating the fruit prevents the formation of toxic substances in the body.
