Recco 57

Recco 57 proportions
A low form with a broad presence
A diameter of 57 cm combines with a height of 27 cm and a nominal capacity of 36 L. The 19:9 ratio gives Recco its distinctly low, broad silhouette.
Porous terracotta
The material remains breathable after firing, allowing the air exchange that roots need.
Made for demanding conditions
The special clay blend and high firing temperature provide resistance to frost and pronounced temperature changes.
A sculptural horizontal profile
Recco dispenses with projecting rims and decorative patterns. Its low rounded body, broad opening and gently flattened base create a calm silhouette for contemporary terraces, courtyards and entrances.
From the earth, in Mycenae
Terraneo makes its pots at its factory in Mycenae, Greece. Different types of earth from the Peloponnese and Crete are cleaned, blended in specific proportions and worked by hand before shaping.
How durability is made
A controlled process combining technical precision with skilled handwork.
Raw materials are sourced from selected quarries in the Peloponnese and Crete.
The clay is worked by hand to remove trapped air before craftspeople fill the moulds.
Once removed from the mould, each pot is finished by hand on a pottery wheel.
Controlled firing keeps the terracotta porous and contributes to its high frost resistance.
