Cultivar origin
The Peperomia deppeana is a naturally occurring species distributed in Mexico & northern South America. It lives in shaded, humid microhabitats, often as an epiphyte or hemiepiphyte in organic growing media.
The commercial form ‘Deppeana’ was selected for its velvety texture, brown-green tone and low, creeping habit—ideal for indoor decoration with an emphasis on texture.
1) Growing medium & pot: A light, free-draining mix (peat/perlite; optionally a little orchid bark). A pot with drainage holes.
2) Watering: Moderately—as soon as the surface dries. Prefer watering the growing medium or watering from below.
3) Light & texture: Plenty of indirect light maintains the deep colour and velvety texture.

Does it need leaf misting?

How do I keep it compact?
Pinch the tips and lightly prune creeping stems; more light means fuller growth.
What growing medium does it prefer?
