ORCHIDEA

The ORCHIDEA embraces the plant with curves reminiscent of a delicate petal and turns the orchid into a complete decorative point. The clean matte surface and slightly asymmetrical silhouette highlight the flowers without competing with their natural elegance.

ORCHIDEA irrigation system · specially for orchids

Light to the roots. Air to the substrate. Water only when needed.

The ORCHIDEA is not a simple planter. The orchid is transplanted into the semi-transparent removable plant liner with the special LECHUZA substrate, while the small reservoir and the water-level indicator manage a controlled cycle of moisture and dry periods.

The translucent plant liner allows light to reach the roots and permits their visual inspection.
The special substrate balances moisture and aeration, stores nutrients and maintains a stable pH.
The water-level indicator clearly shows the amount of water between the MIN and MAX points.
The orchid is removed from the nursery pot and transplanted into the plant liner.

Roots remain visible

The translucent plant liner allows light to reach the roots and lets you monitor their condition more easily.

The substrate breathes

The special composition for orchids helps moisture and air coexist without the constantly wet environment that burdens the roots.

Indicator-guided watering

The indicator turns the "does it need water?" check into a clear cycle of MAX, MIN, and dry phase.

A special size for compact orchids

Check the root ball and the final height of the orchid before repotting.

Tabletop

Outer dimensions: 18.3 × 17.9 × 19.5 cm
Water reservoir: 0.3 L
Plant volume: 1 L
plant liner: approximately Ø 12 cm
Planting depth: 10 cm
Maximum plant height: 30 cm

Planting and watering in four steps

The correct sequence keeps the watering cycle controlled from day one.

01 · Assemble

Attach the water-level indicator to the dedicated system and place the semi-transparent plant liner inside the planter.

02 · Transplant

Remove the orchid from the original pot and gently fill in the special substrate around the roots.

03 · Water to MAX

Water slowly from above, directly onto the substrate and away from the crown, until the indicator reaches MAX.

04 · Wait 7–14 days

When the indicator reaches MIN and the water is depleted, leave a dry phase of 7–14 days before the next watering.

Petal-shaped design

Like a petal around the orchid

The curves merge into a gentle central 'fold', creating a planter that looks light and expressive from every angle.

Root-conscious care

Beauty continues under the substrate

In orchids, the roots are an active part of the plant's health. The translucent plant liner and the aerated substrate make them visible and easier to monitor.

Where it fits

01In a bright indoor windowsill, protected from the hot midday sun.
02On a sideboard or side table, as a standalone floral focal point.
03In an office, reception desk, or bedside table, where the indicator remains easily visible.
04In a protected indoor area with the light and temperature conditions required by this particular orchid.

How to correctly choose the orchid

01The root ball must fit in the semi-transparent plant liner, approximately Ø 12 cm and 10 cm deep.
02Prefer compact Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium, or another compatible orchid with similar root development.
03Check that the roots are healthy before transplanting and remove only what is visibly dead.
04Keep the final size compatible with the recommended maximum plant height of about 30 cm.

Mild cleaning

The matte surface requires simple care

Clean the outer planter body with a soft, slightly damp cloth and gently dry. Avoid abrasive sponges and strong cleaners that may damage the matte finish.

Water suitable for orchids

Prefer soft water

Orchids prefer water with low salt content, such as rainwater of suitable purity. Water the substrate and avoid letting water stay in the crown of the plant.

MIN means the start of the dry phase — not immediate refilling

When the water has been consumed and the indicator is at MIN, leave the orchid without additional watering for about 7–14 days. The exact duration depends on the variety, light, temperature, and the actual moisture of the substrate.

Frequently asked questions

What are the dimensions and capacities of the ORCHIDEA?

The ORCHIDEA has outer dimensions of approximately 18.3 × 17.9 × 19.5 cm, a water reservoir of 0.3 L, and a plant volume of 1 L. The removable plant liner accommodates a root ball of approximately Ø 12 cm, has a planting depth of 10 cm, and a recommended maximum plant height of 30 cm.

What does the All-in-One Set include?

It includes the ORCHIDEA outer planter body, the semi-transparent removable plant liner, the specially adapted self-watering system with water-level indicator, and the special LECHUZA substrate for orchids. The plant is not included.

Why is the plant liner semi-transparent?

The semi-transparent plant liner allows light to reach the roots and facilitates visual inspection of their condition. At the same time, it can be completely removed, making planting and maintenance easier.

Does the orchid stay inside its original pot?

No. The orchid is removed from the original pot and transplanted into its semi-transparent ORCHIDEA plant liner, with the special substrate carefully filled around the roots.

How and when do I water the orchid?

After planting, water slowly from above, directly onto the substrate and away from the crown, until the indicator reaches MAX. Once it reaches MIN and the water is depleted, allow a dry phase of about 7–14 days, depending on the variety and conditions, before watering again.

Which orchids is it suitable for?

The ORCHIDEA is specially designed for orchids such as Phalaenopsis and Dendrobium. Before planting, check that the root ball fits in a plant liner of about Ø 12 cm and that the plant's size remains compatible with the recommended height of up to 30 cm.

Can the ORCHIDEA be used outdoors?

LECHUZA designed the ORCHIDEA for indoor use. Do not expose it to rain, as the controlled watering and dry-phase cycle is essential for healthy orchid roots.
