GRANULAR FERTILISER FOR LARGE GARDENS

Nitrophoska® Special
12-12-17 · 25 kg

The large, better-value choice for anyone caring for extensive beds, a vegetable garden, numerous fruiting plants or a lawn and wanting one complete formula at every application. Every granule combines nitrogen, phosphorus and a higher proportion of potassium with magnesium, sulphur, boron and zinc, helping distribute nutrition evenly across the whole area. Its low chloride content adds another meaningful advantage for plants that are more sensitive to chloride-based fertilisers.

Composition & analysis

Complete nutrition with the same formula in every granule

A balanced nitrogen and phosphorus base is combined with a higher proportion of potassium, plus magnesium, sulphur and two useful trace elements. Because every nutrient in the formula is present within each granule, nutrition is distributed more evenly even across larger areas.

12–12–17

Product basis

Compound granular inorganic NPK fertiliser with Mg, S, B and Zn for direct application to soil.

Nitrogen 12%: 5% nitrate nitrogen for immediate availability and 7% ammoniacal nitrogen.
Phosphorus 12%: supports root function and the plant's energy processes.
Potassium 17%: the higher proportion suits flowering, vegetable and fruiting plants.
Mg, S, B and Zn: complete the core NPK nutrition for broader coverage of plant needs.

Every granule is complete

Every application point receives the same combination of nutrients, without separate granules carrying different formulas.

A stronger potassium balance

The 17% potassium level offers the balance many gardens need for flowering, fruiting and plants with higher nutrient requirements.

Large pack, fewer repeat purchases

The 25 kg pack suits larger areas and regular use, without needing several small packs through the season.

When and where to use it

When to use it

For gardens with genuinely larger quantity needs

Use it as a base dressing at the start of active growth or as a top dressing later, when you need a complete NPK with extra potassium across a larger area or for numerous plants.

Large beds

For flowering plants, shrubs, climbers and mixed ornamental planting schemes.

Vegetable garden

For vegetables and edible crops that need core nutrients, magnesium, sulphur and trace elements.

Orchards and fruiting plants

For citrus, olives, vines, fruit trees and fruiting shrubs.

Lawns

For even granular feeding across lawns and extensive garden areas.

Dosage & application

A large pack with straightforward measuring

The pack is large, but the correct rate remains simple and is measured per square metre or per plant. Start at the lower rate for young or sensitive plants.

Beds: 30–60 g/m²
Vegetable garden: 30–60 g/m²
Lawns: 20–40 g/m²
Trees/shrubs: 50–120 g
Water afterwards: yes

01Beds and vegetable gardens

Use approximately 30–60 g per square metre and distribute the granules evenly over the soil surface.

02Lawns

Use approximately 20–40 g per square metre, spreading evenly and watering thoroughly immediately afterwards.

03Fruit trees and shrubs

Use approximately 50–120 g per plant according to its size and age. Spread beneath the canopy, not directly against the trunk.

04How to apply it

Spread over lightly moist soil, work it gently into the surface where practical and water thoroughly to begin dissolving the granules.

Avoid direct contact

Do not leave concentrated granules on leaves, shoots or directly against the trunk, and do not exceed the rate. This product is not intended for foliar spraying and is not a multi-month controlled-release fertiliser.

Coverage & value

How much area 25 kg can cover

Depending on the rate, the pack can cover approximately 417–833 m² of beds or vegetable garden, or approximately 625–1,250 m² of lawn per application.

30 g/m²≈ 833 m²per application

40 g/m²625 m²per application

50 g/m²500 m²per application

60 g/m²≈ 417 m²per application

Calculation basis: 25,000 g pack divided by the selected rate per square metre.

Pack, form & storage

Available sizes

25 kg and 1 kg

The 25 kg pack is intended for larger areas or regular use. A separate 1 kg pack is available for smaller gardens or for trying the formula first.

Form

Uniform granules

Apply directly to soil. Moisture and watering help the granules release their nutrients.

Storage

Keep the pack tightly closed in a dry place and protect it from moisture. Store away from children and pets, and wash your hands after use.

Frequently asked questions

Straightforward answers on choosing the larger pack, dosage, coverage and correct application.

01Who is the 25 kg pack practical for?

It is suitable when feeding a large garden, extensive beds, a lawn, a vegetable garden or numerous fruiting plants and you need the same formula in a larger quantity. A separate 1 kg pack is available for smaller needs.

02How much should I use in beds and the vegetable garden?

Use an indicative rate of 30–60 g per square metre. Start at the lower rate for young or more sensitive plants, distribute the granules evenly over the soil and water after application.

03How much area does the pack cover?

At a rate of 30–60 g/m², 25 kg covers approximately 417–833 m² of beds or vegetable garden. On lawns, at 20–40 g/m², it covers approximately 625–1,250 m² per application.

04How should it be applied?

Spread the granules evenly over lightly moist soil, away from shoots and leaves. Work them gently into the surface where practical and water thoroughly so moisture can begin releasing the nutrients.

05Is this a slow-release or controlled-release fertiliser?

No. It is a compound granular fertiliser whose nutrients become available with moisture. It does not replace a multi-month controlled-release fertiliser and should not be overapplied.

06How should the large pack be stored?

Keep the pack tightly closed in a dry place and protect it from moisture. Store away from children and pets, and wash your hands after use.
