The hydrangea that starts white and finishes with attitude 💗
Family: Hydrangeaceae • Pot diameter: 19cm • Height: 40–50cm
The Hydrangea Pink & Rose is an award-winning hydrangea from the Living Creations series, selected for its striking colour transformation, strong stems and long flowering period. Its large, full blooms open in creamy white, gradually move into soft pink and deepen into richer pink tones as the season progresses, creating a plant that never looks visually static. Its form is elegant but sturdy, with branches that support the large flower panicles better even in rain or wind. It is ideal for pots, low plantings, borders and smaller gardens that need long-lasting flowering, a clean shape and colour that naturally evolves from summer into autumn.
Place it in sun or light partial shade, in a spot with enough light for abundant flowering and enough soil moisture to support the plant. Panicle hydrangeas enjoy brighter positions more than classic bigleaf hydrangeas, as long as the substrate does not dry out excessively. In a pot, it needs good drainage, rich soil and steady watering during warm months. In a planting bed, it works beautifully as a low flowering shrub, in linear planting, in a border or as a strong seasonal focal point.
Taxonomic background: Hydrangea paniculata belongs to the family Hydrangeaceae and is a deciduous flowering shrub known for its large conical flower panicles. The paniculata group is highly useful in garden design because it flowers reliably on new wood and adapts well to sunny or partly shaded positions.
Origin & breeding: Hydrangea paniculata Pink & Rose ('LC NO14' PBR) EU 57857 belongs to the Living Creations series and is associated with breeder Alex Schoemaker / Living Creations Holding B.V. It was selected for strong stems, large full flower panicles, long flowering and a dramatic colour transformation during the season.
Character of the variety: This variety stands out for flowers that open in bright white and gradually turn pink, with a more intense shade towards late summer and autumn. This transition gives continuous interest to the same plant, without relying on a single short peak moment.
Awards & commercial value: Pink & Rose has received a Silver KVBC Award, a distinction that highlights its ornamental value, garden performance and stability of characteristics. Its commercial identity is built on the combination of large flowers, strong stems, hardiness and a long flowering period.
Ornamental use: Thanks to its compact mature size and long flowering period, it is used in pots, borders, mass plantings and small gardens. Its white-to-pink colour change makes it especially useful in plantings where seasonal evolution is desired without changing the basic structure of the planting.
