Small rosette, big design impact 🤍
Family: Asphodelaceae • Pot diameter: 6.5 cm
Haworthia 'Silver Variegata' looks “designed”: a symmetrical rosette, clean lines, and silver variegation that adds a bright, refined look without trying too hard. The result is calm yet striking—like a small natural décor object that works in any modern space. It shines in neutral cachepots and mini arrangements, because its texture and colour do the heavy lifting.
In a bright spot with good natural light, ideally near a window but away from harsh, scorching exposure. In steady light it keeps a nicer rosette form and the silver variegation stays cleaner.
Role in a composition: a refined, bright highlight with clean geometry and subtle colour intensity.
Taxonomic background: Haworthia belongs to Asphodelaceae (Asphodeloideae), a succulent group known for compact rosettes and a wide range of leaf textures and “windowed” leaf features.
Native range & ecology: The genus is mainly native to South Africa, often growing in semi-arid habitats where plants shelter among stones or under sparse vegetation.
Naming (etymology): The name Haworthia honours botanist Adrian Hardy Haworth. In cultivation, “Silver Variegata” is a trade label describing silver-toned variegation (variegation) on the leaves.
Propagation & stability: Variegated forms are typically maintained through offsets (clonal propagation), to keep the pattern and intensity as stable as possible.

It refers to the silver-toned variegation on the leaves—lighter zones that make the rosette look brighter and more collector-like.
Variegated plants have less chlorophyll in the light zones, so they produce energy more “economically”. That often means slower growth, paired with a more distinctive look.
Only when the substrate has dried completely. The most common mistake with succulents is “a little, often”—go sparse and correct instead.
Keep it in a consistently bright spot and avoid overwatering. With balanced conditions, the rosette stays tighter and cleaner in form.
