A set of three small sowing trays made from recycled paper pulp for starting seeds in a protected space. The biodegradable material can be divided at transplanting to reduce root disturbance, provided it is not kept saturated with water.

FROM SEED TO SEEDLING

Sow, germinate, transplant gently

Paper pulp holds growing medium in small positions and can be separated when roots are ready to move on.

Set of 3 size-S trays.
Recycled, biodegradable paper pulp.
Each tray is 16.3 × 12.3 × 5.2 cm.

Important: Place the trays inside a watertight catch tray. Excess moisture softens paper pulp and encourages mould.

01Sowing with controlled moisture

Use a fine seed-starting medium and follow the depth required by each species.

01Step 1: Place inside a watertight catch tray and fill loosely with damp, not muddy, growing medium.
02Step 2: Sow at the correct depth, label the variety and mist or water gently.
03Step 3: Provide light and airflow after germination and transplant before roots crowd or pulp breaks down.

02Airflow without saturation

Paper should be as moist as the seed requires, never permanently wet.

01Check 1: Empty excess water from the outer tray and never leave pulp sitting in water.
02Check 2: Increase airflow if condensation or mould appears and remove diseased seedlings immediately.
03Check 3: At transplanting, separate sections carefully and ensure the pulp is covered by soil.
