A tie should guide the plant, not hold the stem completely rigid.
- 01Step 1: Cut enough twine and pass it once around the stake.
- 02Step 2: Cross the twine and create a second loose loop around the stem.
- 03Step 3: Tie on the stake rather than the stem, then inspect tension and wear regularly.
02Natural weathering outdoors
Jute can weaken when it remains wet or exposed for long periods.
- 01Check 1: Replace ties that are frayed, excessively loose or hardened.
- 02Check 2: Never allow twine to grow into living tissue; move it as the stem thickens.
- 03Check 3: Store the remaining roll dry, clean and protected from damp and pests.
