Family: Crassulaceae • Pot diameter: 6 cm
The echeveria that makes “flat” look boring 💤
‘Madiba’ stands out for its rippled foliage, which gives texture and volume to the rosette. Easy to care for and not demanding in watering, it works beautifully in bright indoor or outdoor positions.
It wants plenty of light, whether on an indoor windowsill or in an outdoor position with sun. Water only when the substrate has dried out completely. Avoid standing water and avoid keeping it in shade. With enough light, the rosette stays tighter and the rippling of the leaves becomes much more expressive.
‘Madiba’ is a chance hybrid that originated in Paco Serrano’s nursery in Spain. It is known for the characteristic wavy foliage that gives the rosette a sculptural appearance. The cultivar name honours Nelson Mandela, whose clan name was ‘Madiba’.
