Echeveria 'Izar' is a small ornamental Echeveria with a compact rosette and thick, fleshy leaves that form a clean geometric arrangement. Its colours usually sit between cool green and grey-green, while in a very bright position it may develop stronger pinkish, purple or bronze tones along the leaf edges. It is ideal for small pots, bright windowsills, succulent shelves and compositions where a plant with a tight form, low demands and a very clean aesthetic is needed. Where to place it

Place it in a very bright position, ideally near a window with plenty of natural light or on a sheltered balcony with gentle direct sun. Echeveria 'Izar' needs enough light to keep its rosette tight, its leaves compact and its colours more intense. In low light, it may stretch, the rosette may open up and the plant may lose its clean shape. If moved outdoors or into strong summer sun, the transition should be gradual to avoid leaf scorch.

Place/habitat & distribution: The genus Echeveria is associated with dry and semi-dry regions of the Americas, mainly of Mexican and Central American origin, where many species grow in bright, rocky places with fast drainage. This adaptation explains why cultivated varieties love abundant light and do not tolerate constant moisture in the pot.

Naming: The variety name 'Izar' is used to distinguish this particular form with a compact rosette, thick leaves and colouring that changes depending on the light. Its appearance becomes more interesting when grown in a bright position without excessive watering.

Colour & growth: Echeveria 'Izar' grows slowly to moderately and keeps an attractive look in a small pot. Its colours can become more intense with very bright light, slight dryness between waterings and the right well-draining substrate.
