The removable element is the plant liner—not the tall outer planter body. It is lifted vertically by the recessed handles and includes the planting zone, the LECHUZA-PON layer, the 7.5 L reservoir, and the water-level indicator. The lower zone of the ALTO accommodates the special support elements and, when the plant reaches about 50 cm, the additional stabilizing weight.

The cross and the four support tubes are assembled before placing the plant liner.
From a plant height of about 50 cm, add 25 kg of ballast evenly, according to LECHUZA instructions.
The total weight of the plant liner, including the plant and water, must not exceed 35 kg.

The special construction of the ALTO requires proper preparation before planting.

01 · Set up the base

Place the cross and the four support tubes on the outer planter body, following the assembly instructions.

02 · Secure properly

For a plant about 50 cm tall or more, add 25 kg of ballast evenly without obstructing the drain outlet.

03 · Complete the planting

Spread the provided LECHUZA-PON and add appropriate substrate, leaving the filling shaft and the water-level indicator clear.

04 · Activate the water reservoir

Water from the top during the first weeks. When the roots reach the moisture zone, fill from the filling shaft up to the MAX mark.

Although it has the same size-40 plant liner, the outer planter body reaches 105 cm and requires stable support. The official instructions exclude the use of a wheeled base to protect the balance of the tall structure.

Do I fill the reservoir immediately after planting?

For the first few weeks, water from above until the roots reach the moisture zone. When the plant starts to draw water, use the filling shaft and fill up to the MAX mark, following the appropriate dry phase when the indicator reaches MIN.

Is it suitable for outdoor use and rain?
