The smallest citrus you’ve seen — and you’ll want it 🌿
Pot diameter: 12 cm • Height: ~35 cm • Trellis-trained. Plant with fruit.
‘Oriana’ packs the full Mediterranean mood into a small footprint: an elegant low stem, glossy dense foliage, abundant flowering with white fragrant blooms and — in good conditions — small orange-yellow fruits that remain decorative for months. It is a beautiful choice for kitchen counters, sunny windowsills or protected balconies, wherever you want something living, aromatic and attractive without filling the space. A steady year-round presence, with a clean, tidy look and high decor value.
Place it in a very bright position with 4–6 hours of sun per day. Use a rich but well-draining substrate, such as potting mix improved with perlite. Avoid draughts and frost. Always use a pot with a drainage hole and empty the saucer after watering.
Give it a “stage” — the mini-stem works as an anchor, and you can build the palette around it.
Species/Hybrid: Calamondin is a citrus hybrid, Citrus × microcarpa, known internationally for its ability to fruit in pots.
‘Oriana’: A cultivated selection from nursery programmes for compact crown, early/steady flowering and mini-stem architecture. The form is maintained clonally for consistency of characteristics.
Mini-stem production: The low stem is achieved with selected rootstock and guided pruning/training in the early stages, so the plant keeps a small final volume ideal for indoor spaces.
Distribution/Use: Popular in European nurseries for container gardening — Mediterranean style in small spaces.
