The CILINDRO Color 23 highlights the plant with a slender, rounded columnar silhouette and the characteristic look of fine vertical ribbing. Its 23 cm diameter allows it to fit in spots where a bulky planter would overwhelm the space, while the 41 cm height gives the planting a more striking presence. Available in Sand Brown, White, or Black, it easily fits into a modern living room, entrance, professional space, balcony, or terrace, combining clean design with the genuine LECHUZA self-watering system.

LECHUZA Classic System

The water stays in the water reservoir. The roots take what they need.

The provided LECHUZA-PON is placed over the separating base and creates the zone that delivers moisture to the roots. Once the initial rooting period is completed, the reservoir is filled through the special filling shaft, and the water-level indicator shows when the water reaches MAX or MIN.

The plant liner is removed from the outer planter body and is easily carried by the built-in handles.
For the first few weeks, water from above, as in a conventional planter.
After rooting, fill the water reservoir from the filling shaft up to the MAX mark.
In an uncovered outdoor area, remove the drain plug so that excess rainwater can drain away.

From planting to self-watering in four steps

The correct start helps the roots fully utilize the Classic System.

01 · Prepare the plant liner

Place the Classic System components and the provided LECHUZA-PON as a base layer in the removable plant liner.

02 · Plant correctly

Add substrate suitable for the plant, leaving the filling shaft and the water-level indicator free.

03 · Insert the plant liner

Lower the planted plant liner into the CILINDRO and place the planter on a stable, flat surface.

04 · Water in two stages

Initially, you water from the top. When the roots reach the moisture zone, you use the water reservoir and the MIN/MAX indicator.

The vertical grooves follow the columnar shape and make the planter appear even slimmer. White brightens the space, Sand Brown adds natural warmth, and Black creates a more intense, modern contrast with the greenery.

The indicator helps — checking is still necessary

The water reservoir reduces the watering frequency, but consumption varies according to the type of plant, the sun, and the wind. In a heatwave or in a very exposed location, check the indicator and the substrate moisture daily.

Before using it outdoors

In an uncovered area, remove the drain plug from the bottom so that excess rainwater can drain away. For indoor use, the plug must remain properly closed. Always place the planted CILINDRO on a stable, flat surface that can support the total weight.

Frequently asked questions

What does the All-in-One Set include?

It includes the CILINDRO Color 23 outer planter body, the removable plant liner with integrated handles, the Classic System equipment with water-level indicator, and LECHUZA-PON for the base layer. The plant and the additional substrate are not included.

Do I fill the reservoir immediately after planting?

For the first few weeks, water from above, until the roots reach the moisture zone. Then you can transition to reservoir watering: fill it about halfway and observe if the level drops in the following days. When the plant starts drawing water, use the filling shaft and the MAX indicator normally.

When do I refill the reservoir?

When the indicator reaches MIN, allow the appropriate dry phase for your plant and then refill up to MAX. The duration depends on the species, location, temperature, and wind. On very hot days, check the indicator and substrate moisture daily.

Is it suitable for outdoor use and rain?

Yes. The body is resistant to UV exposure and weather conditions. In uncovered outdoor areas, remove the drainage plug so that excess rainwater can escape.

Is the plant liner removable?

Yes. The plant liner has built-in handles, so it can be planted, cleaned, and transported separately from the outer planter body.

Can I place it on furniture?

Yes, provided the furniture is stable, flat, and safely supports the total weight of the planted planter along with the water in the reservoir. Protect the surface from moisture during planting and watering.

What plant height can I use?

LECHUZA specifies a maximum plant height of 40 cm for the CILINDRO Color 23. Choose a plant with a root system suitable for a plant liner approximately Ø19.5 cm and a planting depth of 17.5 cm.

With specially designed boxes, we ensure that the plants will reach you intact, no matter what they encounter on the way!

All plants in 3L pots or larger are placed in individual boxes that secure the plant at the base of the pot, preventing it from tipping over.

The cardboard used for the boxes is specially made to provide resistance to potential impacts during transport.
