The 'bonnie' variety has all the hardy characteristics of the regular flowering plant but with an extra artistic 'twist'. Its foliage consists of curly and twisted bicolour leaves that add an exceptional decorative beauty to either indoor or outdoor settings. Very easy to maintain, ideal for pots, window boxes and hanging baskets, alone or in combination with other plants. Excellent plant for purifying the atmosphere indoors, needs watering every 7-10 days.
Care
Light: Intense light, tolerates partial darkness but this limits its growth and can cause loss of dichroism in the leaves. If it is to be placed in sun, this should be done gradually from early spring. Watering: Keep the soil moist during the growing season, but avoid overwatering. Watering in winter. Temperature: Ideal temperature above 16°C . Tolerates low temperatures for short periods as long as the soil is kept almost dry. Fertilization: A small amount at infrequent intervals during the growing season. No fertilizer is needed in winter. Air purification: Belongs to the plants that have the ability to clean the atmosphere from harmful toxins. Dimensions: Maximum height about 20 cm, fast growing. Origin: Tropical regions of Africa.
