Moisture-holding components keep water available to the roots, while sand and activated carbon add a more stable texture.

The base of the mix

2 parts coco coir, 1.5 parts vermiculite and 1 part pure sphagnum moss, with small amounts of horticultural sand and activated carbon. No fertiliser is added.

2 parts coco coir: Creates a light base with steady moisture retention.
1.5 parts vermiculite: Retains water and releases it gradually into the root zone.
1 part pure sphagnum moss: Maintains even moisture and supports capillary water movement.

Use it straight from the package and keep it continuously moist. For species watered from below, place the pot in a water tray according to the plant's needs.

01Remove as much old material as practical

Handle the roots gently and carefully remove remnants of the previous substrate.

02Add moist fresh mix

Place a base layer of Carnivorous Mix and position the plant at the correct depth.

03Fill without firm pressure

Fill around the roots and settle the mix gently.

04Keep it continuously moist

Wet evenly after repotting and do not allow the mix to dry out completely.

Do not add fertiliser to the substrate

The mix is intentionally low in nutrients. Keep it moist and follow the specific species' needs for light, water and feeding.
