The CANTO Stone 40 low combines the strict geometry of a cube with a textured surface reminiscent of raw natural stone. Its low, balanced form highlights foliage and flowers without visually weighing down the space, and it fits equally well in a modern living room, entrance, balcony, or terrace. The removable plant liner with integrated handles makes planting and moving simple, while the genuine LECHUZA self-watering system keeps care more controlled.

LECHUZA Classic System

Water is stored below. The roots draw up what they need.

The provided LECHUZA-PON is placed over the separating base and creates the zone that delivers moisture to the roots. Once the initial rooting period is completed, the reservoir is filled through the special filling shaft, and the water-level indicator shows when the water reaches MAX or MIN.

The removable plant liner is removed from the outer planter body and is easily transported by the built-in handles.
For the first few weeks, water from above, as in a conventional planter.
After rooting, fill the water reservoir from the filling shaft up to the MAX mark.
In an uncovered outdoor area, remove the drain plug so that excess rainwater can drain away.

From planting to self-watering in four steps

The correct start helps the roots fully utilize the Classic System.

01 · Prepare the plant liner

Place the Classic System components and the provided LECHUZA-PON as a base layer in the removable plant liner.

02 · Plant correctly

Add substrate suitable for the plant, leaving the filling shaft and the water-level indicator free.

03 · Install the liner

Lower the planted plant liner into the CANTO and place the planter on a stable, level surface.

04 · Water in two stages

Initially, you water from the top. When the roots reach the moisture zone, you use the water reservoir and the MIN/MAX indicator.

The embossed surface gives the planter a natural, architectural character, but its body remains light, resistant to breakage, and suitable for use indoors or outdoors. The same liner dimension is also used in the CANTO Stone 40 high, so that the planting can be transferred between the two forms.

The indicator helps — checking is still necessary

The water reservoir reduces the watering frequency, but consumption varies according to the type of plant, the sun, and the wind. In a heatwave or in a very exposed location, check the indicator and the substrate moisture daily.

Before using it outdoors

In an uncovered spot, remove the drain plug from the bottom so that excess rainwater can drain away. For indoor use, the drain plug must remain properly closed. Always place the planted CANTO on a stable, flat surface that can support the total weight.

Frequently asked questions

What does the All-in-One Set include?

It includes the CANTO Stone 40 low outer planter body, the removable plant liner with integrated handles, the Classic System equipment with a water-level indicator, and LECHUZA-PON for the base layer. The plant and additional substrate are not included.

Do I fill the reservoir immediately after planting?

For the first few weeks, water from above, until the roots reach the moisture zone. Then you can transition to reservoir watering: fill it about halfway and observe if the level drops in the following days. When the plant starts drawing water, use the filling shaft and the MAX indicator normally.

When do I refill the reservoir?

When the indicator reaches MIN, allow the appropriate dry phase for your plants and then fill up to MAX. Its duration depends on the type, location, temperature, and wind. On very hot days, check the indicator and the substrate moisture daily.

Is it suitable for outdoor use and rain?

Yes. The body is resistant to UV exposure and weather conditions. In uncovered outdoor areas, remove the drainage plug so that excess rainwater can escape.

Is the plant liner removable?

Yes. The removable plant liner has built-in handles, allowing it to be planted, cleaned and moved separately from the outer planter body.

What plant height can I use?

LECHUZA specifies a maximum plant height of 100 cm for the CANTO Stone 40 low. Choose a plant with a root system suitable for a plant liner approximately 34 × 34 cm and a planting depth of 25 cm.

We take care of the packaging!

With specially designed boxes, we ensure that the plants will reach you intact, no matter what they encounter on the way!

All plants in 3L pots or larger are placed in individual boxes that secure the plant at the base of the pot, preventing it from tipping over.

The cardboard used for the boxes is specially made to provide resistance to potential impacts during transport.
