Asparagus plumosus (Lace Fern, Common Asparagus Fern or Climbing Asparagus) Pot diameter:12cm, Height:35cm.
An elegant fern with long, stemmed and feathery leaves that spread horizontally. Initially dense, developing long, twining shoots with vivid green leaves. Small white-green bell-shaped flowers may appear in late summer and develop into small, purple fruits. Although the plant looks soft and feathery, it develops thorns which should be watched out for when handling it. It grows quickly, it can reach a height of 2.5 metres if not pruned. Due to its rapid growth it often needs transplanting to a larger glaze and top pruning if one wants to limit the height of the plant.
