The name comes from the Greek words for “love” and “flower”, which is why Agapanthus is widely known as the “flower of love”.

Native background of the genus: The genus is native to southern Africa, where Agapanthus grows in open, bright positions with seasonal moisture and good drainage. This background explains its preference for sun, well-drained soil and positions that do not remain heavy or wet for long periods.

Selection & morphology: 'Crystal Blue' is a cultivated evergreen selection with dense foliage, a full base and pale blue flowers with a delicate striped effect.
