Rare, and very aware of it 💗
Family: Crassulaceae • Pot size: 20 cm • Height: 35 cm
Aeonium 'Pink Witch' stands out immediately for its large tricolour rosettes, where green, cream and pink come together in a way that looks almost painted by hand. This is a collectible succulent with a clean, refined presence, ideal for pots that need character without feeling crowded. As it matures, it becomes even more striking, branching and building fuller volume while keeping that bright, distinctive colour identity that makes it stand out instantly on a terrace, in a courtyard or in any very bright spot.
Place it in a very bright position with good air movement, ideally with morning or gentle sun and protection from harsh summer midday light. In a pot, it absolutely needs a very free-draining mix and positions where water never stagnates. It is an excellent choice for balconies, courtyards and bright protected spots that need colour without heavy visual bulk. In winter and during the transitional seasons it usually looks more lively, while in intense summer heat the rosette may tighten slightly, which is perfectly normal for Aeonium.
Composition goal: clean forms, compatible watering needs and one rosy focal point that brightens the whole container.
Taxonomic position: Aeonium 'Pink Witch' belongs to the genus Aeonium in the family Crassulaceae, a group of succulents known for rosettes, fleshy tissues and a strongly seasonal growth rhythm in mild Mediterranean-type climates.
Horticultural origin: It is not a wild botanical species, but a selected cultivated variety distributed through specialised nurseries for collectible succulents. It is closely linked to the well-known 'Blushing Beauty' line, from which it differs mainly in its stable tricolour variegation and its brighter pink character.
Cultivar character: It was selected for its large rosettes, the lively contrast of green, cream and pink, and its ability to branch as it matures, creating a fuller, shrubbier look without losing elegance.
Distribution & stability: It entered international cultivation as a highly ornamental collectible Aeonium and is maintained asexually, mainly through stem cuttings, so that its morphological and colour traits remain stable.
