Actinidia arguta 'issai' - actinid Pot diameter:15cm, Height:50cm.
Grown for its attractive foliage and delicious fruit. A compact variety that produces green fruits with soft skin, late in Summer. Smaller in size than other varieties but sweeter and with excellent flavour.
Self-pollinating variety, does not require a second variety to fruit.
Fast growing, requires less pruning due to its low and compact growth. Resistant to high temperatures, humidity and disease, it is an excellent choice of kiwi. Maximum height: 3-6m, spread: 1-2m. Prefers locations with full sun or partial shade and acidic substrate. It bears fruit on wood from the previous year and is therefore pruned in winter by cutting each fruiting shoot at 3-4 buds.
Kiwi contains twice as much vitamin C as oranges and is also an excellent source of vitamin A and vitamin E, which are essential for glowing and healthy skin, as they slow down the aging process and protect cells from damage. It also contains B vitamins, which greatly help in healthy brain function and folic acid, which prevents birth defects in embryos.
