Leca®ton 4–8 mm · 50 L

Round expanded clay in a 4–8 mm particle size and a large 50 L pack, designed for hydroculture. The stable granules hold the plant upright and create an open root zone, allowing air, water and nutrient solution to move freely around the roots.

Material & characteristics

The material

A stable mineral growing medium for clean hydroculture

Leca®ton provides mechanical support without closing the root zone. Its round 4–8 mm particle size is intended for small and medium hydroculture containers.

100%

Expanded clay

A mineral growing material with a stable, porous structure and independently monitored production quality.

Round 4–8 mm granules: Suited to small and medium hydroculture containers.
Stable support: The plant is held securely while roots can grow freely between the granules.
Open root zone: Air, water and nutrients move through the spaces within the material.
Quality controlled: Product quality is monitored continuously and independently.

Secure plant support

Stable granules hold the plant without forming a compact mass around the roots.

Free root development

Spaces between granules leave room for new roots and air circulation.

Large 50 L pack

A practical quantity for larger containers or several hydroculture applications.

Preparation & use

Before use

Set up hydroculture correctly in four steps

Rinse the granules before planting to remove normal transport dust.

Top dressing

01Rinse with clean water

Remove fine dust that may be present on the granules.

02Prepare the container and level indicator

Use equipment suitable for hydroculture and check that the water level can be read correctly.

03Position the plant securely

Spread the roots and add the granules gradually without crushing them.

04Add water and nutrition

Set the water level and use hydroculture fertiliser according to the plant's needs and the product instructions.

Leca®ton provides support, not nutrition

The growing material does not replace fertiliser. Use a suitable hydroculture nutrient product and follow its dosage instructions exactly.

Pack size

Leca®ton · 50 L

A large pack for bigger containers or several applications. The quantity required depends on the actual volume of each container.

Particle size

Round 4–8 mm granules

This particle size is intended for small and medium hydroculture containers.

Storage

Keep the pack closed and dry, protected from soil or other materials that could mix with the clean granules.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about particle size, preparation and nutrition in hydroculture.

01What is Leca®ton 4–8 mm?

It is round expanded clay for hydroculture. The stable granules support the plant and leave room for air, water, nutrient solution and root development.

02Which container size is it suitable for?

The 4–8 mm particle size is intended for small and medium hydroculture containers.

03Should I rinse it before use?

Yes. Rinsing with clean water is recommended to remove fine dust that can be produced during transport.

04Does it contain nutrients?

No. Use a separate hydroculture fertiliser and follow the dosage instructions for that specific product.

05Can it be reused?

The durable granules can be reused when they remain in good condition, after roots and residues have been removed and the material has been cleaned carefully.

06Are minor visual differences normal?

Yes. Expanded clay is made from a natural raw material, so minor variations in colour or surface are normal.
