HYBRID TEA ROSE · ROSACEAE · DEEP-RED SCENTED FLOWERS

Rosa ‘Hanne’®

Classic romantic air in velvety red 🌹

Family: Rosaceae · Pot diameter: 3 L · Current height: 30–40 cm

  • Velvety deep red
  • Strong fragrance
  • High-centred flowers
  • Upright bush habit

Rosa ‘Hanne’® is a classic Hybrid Tea rose with deep-red high-centred flowers and a strong fragrance. Numerous petals create a velvety surface as they unfold, while each bloom is held clearly on an upright cane. Dark glossy foliage forms a calm background and strengthens the formal romantic character of the large flowers. The result combines velvety deep red with high-centred flowers without losing the cultivar’s natural identity.

Give it a central position in a small rose bed or an individual container near seating, so the deep colour is not lost in a busy palette and the scent remains close.

What makes it distinctive

Three elements define this exact cultivar’s form and presence.

Velvety surface

Dense dark petals absorb light and give the flower visual depth.

High centre

Inner petals remain upright until the flower is fully open.

Clear flowering stem

Each large bloom stands clearly on an upright stem suitable for cutting.

Why you will love it: because velvety surface gains a clear presence on a upright bushy Hybrid Tea rose, without excessive styling.

Colour & compatibility

  • Achillea ‘Moonshine’ — flat yellow flower heads create a clean warm contrast
  • Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Hameln’ — slender arching plumes add movement behind the formal flower stems

Development through timeFrom establishment to mature habitFrom first establishment to the exact plant’s natural mature habit.

First season

During the first season it directs energy into root establishment and a few strong new shoots rather than filling its final space immediately.

Establishment

Each new cycle adds basal canes of different ages, carrying the repeated flowering display.

Mature scale

With long-term growth it reaches about 0.5–1 m in height and 0.5–1 m in width, forming a upright bushy Hybrid Tea rose.

Velvet without hairs

The velvety effect comes from the way petal microstructure and dark pigments absorb and scatter light.

Petals in a spiral

Petals are added around the floral axis in a spiral arrangement, producing the characteristic high centre.
