Bermuda Grass 1 kg

Fast establishment with excellent heat, drought and salt tolerance.

Species: Cynodon dactylon · New-lawn rate: 15 g/m².

  • Warm-season turfgrass
  • 1 kg pack
  • Coverage about 66–67 m²
  • Late spring through summer

Bermuda Grass is built for Mediterranean summer: it starts quickly once the soil is warm, spreads efficiently and forms durable turf for sunny, heavily used spaces. Its strong performance under drought, salinity and wear makes it especially useful in coastal gardens and areas where irrigation needs careful management.

CORRECT ESTABLISHMENT

Success starts before the first seed is sown

A clean seedbed, correct rate, even distribution and steady surface moisture are the four factors that determine whether turf starts densely and without gaps.

  • New-lawn rate: 15 g/m².
  • Estimated coverage: about 66–67 m².
  • Sowing: late spring through summer · soil ≥18°c at 10 cm and rising.

Do not skip: split the seed across two perpendicular directions and irrigate with a fine spray so it stays in place.

01

Fast establishment

Coated seed supports a quick, even start when the soil is properly warm.

02

Summer resilience

It offers excellent tolerance of heat, drought and salinity.

03

Recovery after use

Stolons and rhizomes help the turf close wear marks and thin areas efficiently.

01Sowing step by step

Calculate the rate across a clean area using 15 g/m². The 1 kg pack covers about 66–67 m² for a new sowing.

  1. 01Clear and level: remove weeds and stones, refine the upper soil layer and create a firm, even seedbed.
  2. 02Cross-sow: apply half the quantity in one direction and the other half at right angles for more even distribution.
  3. 03Cover correctly: work the seed about 5 mm into the surface and press very lightly to ensure soil contact.
  4. 04Water gently: use a fine spray without runoff and without moving the seed.
02Watering, emergence & first cut

Until emergence is even, keep the surface consistently moist rather than waterlogged. Frequency changes with sun, wind and soil type, so check actual moisture instead of following a fixed schedule blindly.

  1. 01Before emergence: use short, gentle irrigation so the surface never dries out.
  2. 02After emergence: increase the amount gradually and reduce frequency to encourage deeper rooting.
  3. 03Expected start: About 5 days at 30°C.
  4. 04First cut: Mow only after the young turf has rooted and no longer lifts. Begin higher and reduce gradually towards a height from 15 mm.

PACK & COVERAGE

Bermuda Grass 1Kg

Contains 1 kg of seed. At the recommended new-lawn rate of 15 g/m², theoretical coverage is about 66–67 m². Actual use varies with preparation, edges and handling losses.

Frequently asked questions

Concise, practical answers before you begin sowing.

01How much area does the pack cover?

At the new-lawn rate of 15 g/m², the 1 kg pack covers about 66–67 m². Allow a small margin for edges, handling losses and local interseeding.

02When is the right time to sow?

Late spring through summer. Wait for soil ≥18°c at 10 cm and rising and avoid extreme heat, frost or heavy rain immediately after sowing.

03How should I water during establishment?

Keep the upper soil layer consistently moist with short, gentle irrigation. Once the seedlings have rooted, increase the amount gradually and space irrigation further apart.

04Why can it lose its green colour in winter?

It is a warm-season species and becomes dormant as temperatures fall, typically below about 12°C. This is normal seasonal behaviour rather than turf failure.
