Ιδιαίτερο καλλωπιστικό φυτό με καταγωγή από τη Ναμίμπια και χαρακτηριστικούς μακριούς βλαστούς που φέρουν φύλλα πράσινα σε σχήμα χάντρας, γι' αυτό και είναι γνωστό με το όνομα "String of Beads". Κατάλληλο τόσο για φωτεινούς εσωτερικούς χώρους όσο για εξωτερικούς χώρους.

Χρειάζεται χώρο για να αναπτυχθεί. Ιδανικό για κρεμαστά καλάθια ή για να κρέμεται από κάποιο ράφι. Μπορεί επίσης να φυτευτεί σε συνθέσεις με άλλα παχύφυτα σε ψηλές διακοσμητικές γλάστρες. Πολύ εύκολο στη συντήρησή του.

Συγγενικό είδος του Senecio rowleyanus (String of Pearls).

Φροντίδα

Φως: Προσαρμόζεται σε συνθήκες από μερικώς σκοτεινές μέχρι έντονα φωτεινές. Λίγες ώρες πρωινού ή απογευματινού ήλιου είναι bonus για το φυτό.

Πότισμα: Πολύ ανθεκτικό φυτό στη ξηρασία, αποθηκεύει νερό στα φύλλα του. Αφήστε το χώμα να στεγνώσει πριν ποτίσετε ξανά. Μην ποτίζεται υπερβολικά.

Θερμοκρασία: Θερμοκρασία δωματίου (16-24°C) αλλά μπορεί να ανεχτεί μέχρι και 10°C το Χειμώνα.

Λίπανση: Αραιή δόση ισορροπημένου λιπάσματος 1 φορά το μήνα κατά την περίοδο ανάπτυξης.

Tip: Μπορείτε να κλαδέψετε μέρος της νέας βλάστησης ώστε να δημιουργηθεί  ένα ακόμα πιο συμπαγές φυτό.

English

Also known as the "Rosary Plant", it is a very decorative and ornamental succulent.

It produces long thin branches which, with growth, tend to take on a drooping habit, creating beautiful cascades.

The entire length of the stems is covered with small globose leaves, more elongated than those of S. rowleyanus, of a particular glaucous green color. In spring, white flowers bloom on the long peduncles.

It is a real must-have for succulent enthusiasts, perfect for decorating any style: just place it in a hanging pot or on a shelf to enjoy its spectacular and unique green waterfalls!

Care

• Generally likes direct sunlight.
• It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures, never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to place it in sheltered but bright places during the winter period.
• Almost all species of this genus need very scarce watering all year round, when it is evident that the plant needs it.
• The soil varies greatly from species to species, however in general a well draining substrate is required.
• They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
