Blooms on and on without making a fuss 😌
Family: Alstroemeriaceae • Pot size: 3 lt• Height: ~20–30 cm
Alstroemeria Inticancha® 'Valletta' is a strong pink patio and garden choice, with vibrant colour and generous flowering that carries on from spring right through to autumn (Mar–Oct). It has a compact, tidy habit that fills containers nicely and keeps its presence even when temperatures rise — ideal for warm summers and bright spots that need reliable colour.
⭐ What makes the Inticancha® series special:
Inticancha® are compact patio alstroemerias bred for continuous flowering from spring to autumn. They have strong stems that hold the flowers upright and travel well, and as a Sun Series they cope better with heat compared to more delicate varieties — perfect for balconies, terraces and bright borders.
Choose a spot in sun or bright partial shade. In very hot locations, a touch of afternoon shade helps the flowers stay fresher for longer. Use a light, free-draining substrate so the rhizome can develop properly without sitting in permanent moisture. It performs beautifully in patio containers and in mixed borders.
Composition goal: a bold pink focal point balanced by neutral or silver foliage.
Taxonomic background: The genus Alstroemeria (family Alstroemeriaceae) has produced numerous hybrids bred for long flowering, stable colour and strong performance in containers. Patio series are the result of targeted breeding for a compact growth habit.
Native habitat & distribution: Wild species are native to South America. The rhizome allows the plant to regenerate with fresh shoots and store energy for extended flowering cycles.
Naming / series: The Inticancha® line is a patio series (Mar–Oct) with compact growth and high performance outdoors. 'Valletta' was selected for its vivid pink colour and high heat tolerance.
Selection, breeding & propagation: In production data it is listed as tesval (breeder’s line). It is propagated vegetatively (rhizome division / nursery production) to maintain colour, compact habit and heavy flowering.

Full sun or bright partial shade. In very hot spots, a little afternoon shade helps the flowers stay fresh for longer.
Water when the top layer of the substrate dries slightly, keeping it evenly moist but never permanently soggy. Always empty excess water from saucers or cachepots.
Repot into a pot of around 17–21 cm, ideally when active growth starts. Plant one per pot, centred, and cover the rhizome lightly without packing the soil too firmly.
In cold weather, top growth may die back or reduce and then return from the rhizome in spring. In pots, protect the root zone from prolonged frost and excessive winter wet.
