Citrus Limequat 'Lara' 12cm
Citrofortunella x floridana - Limonella
Σε σπαλιέρα.
Origin
The Eustis Limequat or ‘Limonella’ is something of a fusion plant, the result of the cross development of a Mexican or Key Lime with a Marumi Kumquat. The original plant was grown by W.T Swingle in Florida in 1909, and although many years have passed, the plant remains a favourite Citrina.
Flowering/fruiting
Eustis is the most common of the Limequats and are surprisingly hardy plants, making them the perfect choice for a starter houseplant gift – the Citrina for beginners or even green-fingered children perhaps… The fruits have a sweet tasting skin with a bitter sweet pulp - and can be eaten and enjoyed whole. With a strongly acidic juice that contains considerable amounts of vitamin C, Lara’s fruit has become an interesting ingredient in contemporary food and drink recipes – making this Citrina the perfect addition to any modern, organic kitchen
FRUITING TIMES (PREDICTION)
Citrina uses the latest biological products and biological pest control to ensure that all the plants have fruit that are completely safe to eat or cook with.
