The Easycrisp Lady Late variety has few thorns or is largely thornless. In the lower juvenile part of the plant it still develops thorns, higher up the shoots are largely thornless. The older and taller the plant gets, the fewer spines it has. This extensive lack of thorns makes harvesting much easier.
