Rubus idaeus 'Baby Dwarf'® - Σμέουρο κόκκινο
The dwarf raspberry Lowberry® Baby Dwarf shows a growth type that is completely new for raspberries: this dwarf raspberry hardly grows more than 50 cm high, bears the tips of the shoots and side shoots in the first year, so it is, so to speak, an autumn raspberry.
However, if you don't cut back the shoots completely, but leave 10 - 20 cm of old wood, the harvest will start in June - and then almost never stop until September.
This makes the Lowberry® Baby Dwarf dwarf raspberry both the first super-compact raspberry and one of the first all-time raspberries, as it lasts all summer.
Due to its growth, Baby Dwarf is of course particularly suitable for pot culture, but you can also imagine small raspberry hedges in the garden or the like.
Maturity/Harvest:June/July on last year's rods, from August on the new
raspberry rods grown this year.
Fruits: Small rounded fruits, slightly smaller than those of other Lowberry® raspberries. But Baby Dwarf compensates for this with the permanent supply of fruit throughout the summer.
Taste: The small fruits have an excellent taste, with a typical intense
raspberry aroma; Despite the relatively small size, the fruits are very juicy, a real miniature raspberry experience in your own garden or on the balcony or terrace.
