Μια εξαιρετική ποικιλία Ορτανσίας με μοναδικά άνθη.

Έχει μεγάλα, ελαφρώς αρωματικά λουλούδια με όμορφη, λεπτή δομή και ένα παιχνιδιάρικο χρώμα λευκό και ροζ με ελαφρώς πράσινο στην κορυφή.

Ανθίζει από τις αρχές του καλοκαιριού έως τα τέλη του φθινοπώρου.

Έχει συμπαγή ανάπτυξη (120εκ ύψος, 75εκ άνοιγμα) και ισχυρούς βλαστούς.

Το συμπαγές σχήμα την κάνει ιδανική και για φύτευση σε διακοσμητικές γλάστρες.

Αναπτύσσεται καλά στον ήλιο ή σε ημισκιά σε οποιοδήποτε είδος εδάφους.

Ανθεκτική έως -30°C.

Πως δημιουργήθηκε:

Ένας μικρός παραγωγός στην Ολλανδία, ο Guido Rouwette, ως μεγάλος θαυμαστής της H. paniculata, διασταύρωσε τη H. limelight (με πράσινα-κρεμ άνθη) με τη H. silver dollar (κρεμ άνθη).

Το αποτέλεσμα ήταν πολλά νέα φυτά, διαφορετικά μεταξύ τους.  Ένα από αυτά όμως είχε το μεγαλύτερο μεγέθους άνθος που είχε δει ο Guido.

Από εκείνη τη στιγμή της επιλογής αυτού το φυτού, χρειάστηκαν 10 χρόνια για να ξεκινήσει η παραγωγή και εμπορία της ποικιλίας αυτής!

Hydrangea 'Confetti'® is a breathtaking new panicle hydrangea bred by Peter Vlasveld from the Netherlands.

It combines all the positives you look for in a hydrangea: large flowers of beautiful colour, strong growth, long blooming period, minimum to zero care, and excellent hardiness.

The inflorescence is a large, up to 30cm long, upright, widely conical panicle composed of both sterile (large) and fertile (small) flowers which come out almost pure white in late July. In a couple of weeks they turn a very gentle shade of pink from the bottom upward.

Deciduous leaves are ovate to oval, pointed, deep green and deeply veined. Stems are combination of orange, brown, and red colour.

It makes an upright but not stiff shrub.  It will grow in almost any soil type, preferably humus-rich, moist soil that is not too heavy or shallow.

Once established it does not need extra watering like big-leaf hydrangeas. Full sun is best but it will grow in shade, too.

Feeding is much recommended to enhance flower size.

We recommend regular pruning every spring before the buds begin to swell. By cutting at least two thirds of previous year’s growth you will get a strong shrub with large flowers and a regular shape.

It is hardy to at least -30°C

• Foliage: Deciduous shrub, leaves drop from the plant in Autumn and fresh new ones emerge in Spring. Soil and site: Any good soil that retains moisture in Summer, Hydrangeas don’t like to be dry.
• Flowering time: July to September
• Growth rate: moderate
• Ultimate height and spread: 120cm high x 70cm wide.
• Hardiness: Fully hardy.
• Aftercare: Water regularly after planting and for the first season. Prune in Spring.
